The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has initiated a Route Planning and Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for the future four-laning of Highway 11/17 between Kakabeka Falls and Shabaqua Corners, a distance of approximately 40 kilometres.

The project team is currently confirming the results of the evaluation process and continues to consult with the Conmee and Kakabeka Falls Highway Committees. PIC 3 is currently anticipated for the spring of 2012.
